Every Mother Counts

This show starts out discussing the growing consensus in both Democrats and Republicans alike that we, as a nation, MUST address the criminal injustice system. Then we hear from Christy Turlington Burns about the current state of maternal mortality in the U.S.  Why more women are dying in childbirth here in the US than most other developed nations -- and, importantly, what you can about it. Next up the Women's Media Center gives the lowdown about what's really going on with women in the media, particularly given the controversial firing of NY Times Exec Editor, Jill Abramson. Last but far from least we hear from Sam Kass, Director of the White House Let's Move program about school lunches, healthy foods, and he even shares some easy recipes with you!
