Moms’ Equal Pay Day is not a day to celebrate, it’s a day to activate!  It’s the day in 2024 that moms have to work until in order to earn what white dads earned in 2023 – which means moms have to work more than 18 months to earn what dads earned in 12 months.  Not okay!  So Moms Equal Pay Day is the day we use to shed light on the persistent wage gap experienced by mothers in the workplace. On average moms earn just 63 cents for every dollar paid to White, non-Hispanic dads. Of course, the averages alone don’t tell the whole story because, due to structural racism, moms of color face much larger wage gaps when compared separately. Not okay! It doesn’t have to be this way.  Solutions are possible!!  And we talk about solutions and more on this radio program!!
